NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center has a depressing forecast for western and northwestern Arkansas: drought is expected to persist or intensify through the end of April. Some improvement to dry conditions is expected in north-central Arkansas.

As bad as the outlook is for Arkansas, it’s worse for Texas and Oklahoma. Drought is expected to persist and intensify in all of Oklahoma and most of Texas. Spots that had be drought-free in Texas are expected to see drought develop.
