Generous moisture from the Gulf of Mexico on Jan. 10 and Jan. 12  has begun filling a few rain gauges around Arkansas and one report from Polk County says vehicles were being moved to higher ground on Jan. 12. The rain is welcome, especially in areas that have suffered drought for two, going on three, years. However, with all this rain, it’s easy to forget that drought is  still with us — covering just over 75 percent of the state.
