More rain (and ice) possible this winter

The National Weather Service Forecast office has released its fall through spring outlook.  The good news is that because neither El Nino or La Nina are strong this year, the NWS expects a relatively mild winter in Arkansas (but not so mild as last winter) and the possibilities of above normal precipitation between December 2012 and February 2013.  That can certainly help contribute to a replenishing of water supplies and more relief from drought conditions.  The bad news is that the precipitation may show up in the form of ice, and perhaps even a major ice storm, this winter.  Read more on the late fall through spring outlook from the NWS …
