Isaac moving on through

August 31, 2012

So far, Arkansas appears to be handling the soaking from Isaac fairly well.  The ground has been incredibly thirsty but it is still raining and Isaac has a history of overstaying whatever welcome it had.  It’s just too early to tell what impacts Isaac is having on the state.  We do know that some fields in the Delta were flooded earlier this morning and there has also been flooding reported in Pine Bluff and Fordyce.  According to the National Weather Service, much of Arkansas will continue to see steady rain through Saturday.  Most of the state is still under flash flood watch and a handful of counties are under flood warning.  Forecasters are still concerned about the possibilities of tornadoes later this afternoon and evening in the eastern part of the state.  For more information on what counties are under watches and warnings, go to the National Weather Service’s Severe Weather Summary page http://forecast.weather.gov/hazards/?wfo=lzk.
