Don’t look for drought relief through October
According to NOAA, don’t look for the drought to go away anytime soon. A map at the National Weather Service-Little Rock site shows dry conditions worsening through most of Arkansas, with just a small area along the Louisiana border possibly seeing some improvement.
The outlook for precipitation for Arkansas through Aug. 11 isn’t very bright either, with the chances for below normal rainfall for much of western Arkansas being between 33.3 percent to 40 percent. The Eastern third of the state has equal chances for above, below or normal rainfall betweem now and Aug. 11.
